Neighbourhood community groups are an essential part of galvanizing community spirit, a catalyst for driving change, and a key for local residents to meet and help look after their own neighbourhood areas.
Using this website, local residents will be able to find and adopt newly planted trees in their area, simply by clicking on a tree in the map.
Our goal is really simple, to help to increase the survival rates of newly planted trees, just by looking after them, e.g. watering trees during dry spells.
This summer, we are rolling out a pilot with:
Feltham in Bloom with links to Feltham, Hanworth and Bedfont areas to help encourage local residents to look after their local trees as part of their entry to the RHS’s London in Bloom competition.
Heston Action Group covering Heston East, West and Central
Abundance London covering Chiswick, extending into Bedford Park in the south east of Ealing
Find out more about each of the Neighborhood Community Groups taking part now. Simply ‘Follow’ any of the groups (using the Follow button on their individual pages). By following the community group, you will:
Receive the latest updates about the Hounslow Greentalk project,
Find out when residents are able to start adopting trees, and
Get information about projects and initiatives being done in your local neighborhood.
This is just the beginning. We are working with these groups to make sure we make the experience as easy and useful to use as possible with a longer term goal of bringing this to other communities in the borough.
Please help support these groups and get involved!
